It can be difficult to determine which dental problems actually qualify as dental emergencies. Sometimes your dental issue can wait for a few days to get seen, while other issues must be taken care of as quickly as possible implant machine. What to Do in an Urgent Dental Situation
Is Your Dental Problem an Emergency?If you knocked a tooth loose, you want to keep it in place gently, then stop the bleeding if there is any. This should be done as gently as possible, so as not to knock the tooth completely out. Then, you should call us so we can get you in and hopefully, help to stabilize the tooth.

For those that knocked a tooth completely out, you want to stop the bleeding first. Have someone pick up the tooth by the chewing surface, rinse it very gently under a little clean water, and store it in a container with saliva or milk, if possible, or clean water if not. Contact our office right away, and make sure to bring the tooth with you to your visit. We may be able to restore it into its rightful place water picker.

Toothaches can happen for a wide range of reasons. The most common reason for a toothache is a cavity. If the pain is dull, then you should call us during regular business hours to schedule an appointment. We can then fill your cavity and be on your way. However, if the pain is severe, has sudden onset, or is accompanied by a fever, we need to know immediately. These are classic signs of an abscessed tooth, which is never good. If left untreated, an abscess can make you very sick.

For facial trauma with breaks or punctures of the bones or tissues anywhere on the face, you should seek immediate medical attention. When you are in the ER, we can be contacted to help. We will work with the physician to help with your recovery, and will have you come in to see us once you are released. Your files can be sent over if necessary, and we can also advise on the case if warranted.

Don’t take chances with a dental emergency. If you think you may be having one, call dental handpiece. We would much rather tell you it wasn’t an emergency and see you in a day or two, than to miss something that was an actual emergency.
